let us take (2x-1)/(x+3) = k
then the given equation can be written as
2k-3/k = 5
2k^2 -3 = 5k
2k^2 -5k -3 = 0
2k^2-6k+k-3 = 0
2k(k-3)+1(k-3) = 0
(k-3)(2k+1) = 0
k = 3,-1/2
now substituting k value we get
2x-1/x-3 = 3 & -1/2
2x-1 = 3(x-3) & 2(2x-1) = -1(x-3)
2x-1 = 3x-9 & 4x-2 = -x+3
-x = -8 & 5x = 5
x=8 & x=1
hence the value of x is x=8,1
hope it helps you
