First polling to use Big Data analytics was held in the year 2012 at the US Presidential elections.

Total of 7 billion was spent on the electoral strategies and about 10% of this amount was dedicated to the online advertising efforts by both parties.

Mitt Romney and Barack Obama had their own strategies and definitely the winner of the election executed the plan better.

Mitt Romney's ORCA helps in electoral campaigns.

ORCA is a big plan that pulled together 30,000 volunteers and their web apps to monitor the working of the polling booth on voting day.

Yes, it is possible since political parties will have appropriate knowledge about the data of voters that are working in the aspect of the election.

Hence, it will be easy for political parties to use the tools like data analytics and big data to come up with the appropriate solution to it all.
