Mostly it doesn't, but there are some species which can cross breed such as Ocimum, in that case the pollen fro one species germinates on stigma of the other species.

Explanation:

There are certain chemical substances and enzymes which has to establish compatibility bw the ovary and the pollen matter. This compatibility is only established bw members of the same species, if the pollen grain of some other species falls on the stigma, the very instigation of the growth of pollen tube wouldnt happen. So, pollen grains of one species cannot fertilize the ovaries of another species
