Objective/subjective. There is a debate in social theory about whether social reality exists independently of people's involvement with it, or whether (as insocial constructionism) it is only created by the human process of ongoing interaction. No, social reality can not be interpreted objectively because what is one person's social reality may not be another person's social reality. So how can one person interpret the other person's needs objectively if they can't "walk a mile in their shoes" per second? They honestly can't.
