omission means to delete or to remove a particular word or sentence (in simple words) .
in exams they might ask you to ommit a word so that the sentence is framed well.

Omission is an exercise and a part of integrated grammar where you a word has been omitted and you need to put the correct word in between the words before it and after it. Yes, you'll surely get such exercises in your exam. A short example for this is :-
I have  watering plants since morning. a)___________________
Here, ____________-been..
So, you'll write as follows-
have _been_ watering.
