ramanujan was born in erode a small town to the southwest of chennai his father was a teacher in school. he got the basic knowledge from him .ramanujan had a very sharp brain . even his teachers could not compete with him .at a very young age he started doing research work . he kept on writing whatever he thought .like this he filled four notebooks . those notebooks are still studied by the mathematicians . he always said that a goddess came into his dreams and solved his problems . prof. john hardy took interest in his study and made him his assistant .because of one of his equations mathematicians were able to figure out the value of pie .he died at a very young age because of t.b.
