Can somebody explain me how it is done and why it is correct.
sin.x - cos.x = cos.x - sin.x
to me it makes no sense , suppose if a=2 and b=3
a-b = 2-3 = -1
b-a = 3-2 = 1
their results are incorrect then why in trigonometry it is accepted as correct statement.

Sin(x) - cos(x) = cos(x) - sin(x)
its possible only if the both the side are equal i.e perpendicular and base of a right triangle are equal. or the angle is 45 or 90+45.
sin(45) = cos(45) so the above statement is true .
and
a - b = b - a is possible only if a = b.
