Can somebody list down an experiment proving that carbon dioxide is necessary for photosynthesis? If you know the one I'm listing down below, please answer.

Aim: To show that CO2 is necessary for photosynthesis.

Materials required: two bell jars, potassium hydroxide, petri dish, two healthy potted plants, iodine solution.

Now I'm guessing you know what happens next, so here's my question.
Why do we use bell jars in here?

Thanks in advance!

The bell jars are there in the experiment so that the carbon dioxide does not escape in the air once it is released by the plants after respiring.

Plants also release carbon dioxide that they use themselves for the process of Photosynthesis
