How can I remember chemical equations easily?

As per my experience it is really no as such any shortcut to remember the chemical equation because we can't use mnemonics for this. As the chemical symbol itself are very small , compact and most optimized way of representing the element present in compound. So it is really difficult to remember any alternate way.

But I'll suggest the following way to remember the chemical composition :

Before you remember the chemical equation as whole, better remember the chemical formula itself with the name of chemical eg. Sugar is C6H22O11 or like just saying common salt rather remember it as NaCl. This will need some efforts nd patience at first, but as you practice it daily say while just waiting for bus or just sitting in bus or travelling you can try to remember it. This will make you familiarize the chemical composition of each of crucial and regularly used chemicals. Then while remembering chemical equation just say what are the chemical that are participating in the chemical reaction.

So for example if we have to remember the chemical reaction of Hydrochloric acid with Sodium Hydroxide . We must say like ' when Hydrochloric acid reacts with Sodium Hydroxide it gives you common salt and water'

So if we know the Hydrocholoric acid's & Sodium Hydroxide's composition then you can easily write the equation. The remaining thing is just balancing the equation. Even we can remember the balanced chemical equation like saying like

' when One part of Hydrochloric acid reacts with one part of Sodium Hydroxide it gives you one common salt and water'

NaOH + HCl ---> NaCl + H2O

While there are no mystery alternate routes to enable you to ace Chemistry overnight, you can make it less demanding by concentrate the correct way. When you know the most ideal approaches to spend ... need to unravel so as to learn science. On the off chance that you can't recall how to understand logs or quadratic conditions, is smart thought to survey some polynomial math issues

As Organic chemistry is considered, practice the reaction mechanism and understand the flow of electrons. If you're in touch with this regularly then you don't need to remember any equation. If you follow this, in some days just by seeing reactants you will be able to write the products yourself. It's just a logic.

As Inorganic is considered, there are very less reaction mechanisms. There's no alternative for this. Write down the equations and go through them daily, like before going to bed or when you wake up like that. It's not that difficult. Just understand what are the reactants and products.

For Physical, I don't think you'll be remembering the equation. The equation will be mentioned in the question itself.

So try for it.

Good luck.

It can be pretty difficult to memorize chemical equations. I normally try to learn them by checking the valency and most common oxidation states of elements involved. For example if 1st group elements are involved they normally show +1 oxidation state.

Chemical equations are not meant for remembering. Instead the same are to be understood. Once fundamentals of chemistry are understood well, the equations can be written automatically.

It is never late. One can always start afresh to learn chemical equations from scratch with the help of a teacher having fundamentals of chemistry clear to him/her.

Basically you have to understand the equation to remember. You have to look following points for understanding and remembering the chemical equations easily: 1) You should have thorough knowledge of fundamental chemistry e.g. Compound names with chemical formula. 2) learn the equations as products from reactants 3) Classification of reactions of different kinds e.g. Reaction of alkanes with halides, substitution reaction and displacement reactions etc. 4) Lastly if above points unable to help with some equations then think about positive or negative charge concept 5) Finally balance the equations.

Thank you
