V² = u² + 2as

We will do the substitution and get the missing values.

In the first case we have u , a and v so we are looking for s.

By substitution we have:

8² = 4² + 2 × 3 × s

8² = 16 + 6s

64 - 16 = 6s

48 = 6s

s = 8m

The second gap we have a, s and u and by substitution we can get v.

Doing the substitution we have :

10² = u² + 2 × 5 ××8.4

100 = u² + 84

100 - 84 = u²

16 = u²

u = √16

= 4 m/s
