luminous intensity refers to the brightness
the new unit is lumen
the old unit was candela
1 candela is the brightness of one candle light
or the luminous power emitted by a point source (a candle)
1 candela=12.57 lumen

Luminous intesity → is the wave length of practicular beam of light in given direction.
Higher wavelength have higher brigteneess and vice-versa.
simply it measure the brigteneess of light.
--------------------------------------
Candela is its SI unit.
1 Candela= monochromatic (only one color) radiation of frequency 540*10^12 hertz.
And, Radiant intesity is 1/683 watt in( particular direction from its source ) Steradian (solid angle) .
