CBSE BOARD X, asked by riddhiya, 1 year ago

can someone explain me how to do this sum

three resistors of 3 ohm each areconnected to a battery of 3v .calculate the current drawn from the battery

riddhiya: kalpesh
Steph0303: no i didnt mean u riddhiya
Steph0303: i was saying sorry to sizaB
sizaB: I mean your unit of current is right.
riddhiya: kk
Steph0303: whose unit r u talking
sizaB: unit of current in the answer.
Steph0303: ya mine was current but urs was wrong in the comments section before
Steph0303: sorry mine was correct and urs was wrong in the comments section before
sizaB: Yeah I know it.

Yeah sure.

Case 1 : Series connection of resistors

Total resistance = 3 +3 +3 = 9 ohms
Potential difference = 3V

Current = v/r = 3/9 = 1/3 = 0.33A

Case 2 : Parallel connection of resistors

Total resistance = 1/R = 1/3 + 1/3 + 1/3
= 3/3 = 1 ohm
Potential difference = 3V

Total current = v/r = 3/1 = 3A
Current through each resistor = v/r = 3/3  = 1A
Since all have equal resistance the same current only flows in all the resistors.

Hope it helps!!
Cheers!!
