Speedometer or speed meter is a gauge that measures and shows the speed of the vehicle. Now, suitable for all motor vehicles, they started to be available as alternatives to 1900s and became standard equipment since about 1910. Speedometers are specific names for other vehicles and use other means of sensing speed. For a boat, it is a pit log. For an aircraft, it is an airspeed indicator. Charles babez is attributed to the construction of an early type of speedometer, usually suitable for the locomotive. The electric speedometer was invented by the Croatian Joseph belul bivik 1888 and was originally called a wellosimeter.
