Can someone explain this quort-"The first lamp is the guru and the lamp which is lightened from it is the disciple"

'Gu' stands for darkness and 'Ru' means removing. So the meaning of the word guru is removing darkness. So a guru is being compared to a lamp which also reduces darkness. He is removing darkness or showing a path to his disciples.
