They get their name from the fact that they work together (co-) and relate one sentence element to another.Correlative conjunctions include pairs such as "both/and," "either/or," "neither/nor," "not/but" and "not only/but also." For example: either/or - I want either the cheesecake or the chocolate cake.
subordinate or dependent clause is one which cannot exist by itself as a sentence and only provides some additional information to the main clause. Sentences where there is an independent and at least one dependent clause, it is known as a complex sentence. Subordinating conjunctions are therefore found in complex sentences where they try to join or link the clauses together.

Conjunctions are words that join two or more words, phrases, or clauses.

Coordinating Conjunctions

Example: cookies and milk

Here they are (only 7):

for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so

Subordinating Conjunctions

There are many subordinating conjunctions. This list does not include all of them.

Example: I will eat broccoli after I eat this cookie.

A: after, although, as, as if, as long as, as much as, as soon as, as though

B: because, before, by the time

E: even if, even though

I: if, in order that, in case

L: lest

O: once, only if

P: provided that

S: since, so that

T: than, that, though, till

U: unless, until

W: when, whenever, where, wherever, while
