A -: A train takes 8 hours to cover 440

km

B -: A train can cover 385 km in 7 hours.

Explanation-:

Formula to find Time taken -:

“T = D/S”

Formula to find distance-:

“D = T x distance cover in 1 hour”

T = Time taken

D = Distance

S = Speed

Given ,

A train travels at constant speed it

covers 165 km in 3 hours

To find -:

(a) How much time it will take to cover

440 km?

(b) How much distance can it travel in 7

hours?

_____________________________

Now ,

A train travels at constant speed it

covers 165 km in 3 hours

So ,

A train travel in 1 hrs =

165 / 3

= 55

Now ,

The train covers 55 km in 1 hours

A -:

Time take to cover 440 km -:

Total distance to cover / Distance travel

in 1 hours

Total distance to cover = 440 km

Distance travel in 1 hours = 55 km

Then

440/55

= 8 hours

Therefore,

A train takes 8 hours to cover 440 km

B -:

Distance cover in 7 hours-:

Total time x Distance covered in 1 hrs

Total time -: 7 hours

Distance travel in 1 hours = 55 km

Then,

7 x 55

= 385 km

Therefore,

A train can cover 385 km in 7 hours.
