can someone help me?

The Physics lecture room is located at the 2nd floor of CAS building which is 4 meters high. If 52-kg. student took two minutes to climb the stairs going to the second floor from the ground floor, determine his power outputs in watts, in kilowatts, in horsepower.

Answer:

Typical Pressurized Water Reactors (PWR), a type of nuclear power reactor originally built in the 1970s, produce 1100 to 1500 megawatts, or about 1,500,000,000 Joules/second. By comparison, a windmill farm with hundreds of individual windmills produces about 5 megawatts (5,000,000 Joules/second).

Power

Power is defined as the rate at which work is done, or the rate at which energy is transformed.

Power=WorkTime

In SI units, power is measured in Joules per second, which is given a special name: the watt, W.

1.00 watt = 1.00 J/s

Another unit for power that is fairly common is horsepower.

1.00 horsepower = 746 watts

Example 1

A 70.0 kg man runs up a long flight of stairs in 4.0 s. The vertical height of the stairs is 4.5 m. Calculate the power output of the man in watts and horsepower.

The force exerted must be equal to the weight of the man:mg=(70.0 kg)(9.80 m/s2)=686 N

W=Fd=(686 N)(4.5 m)=3090 N m=3090 J

P=Wt=3090 J4.0 s=770 J/s=770 W

P=770 W=1.03 hp

Since P=Wt and W=Fd, we can use these formulas to derive a formula relating power to the speed of the object that is produced by the power.

P=Wt=Fdt=Fdt=Fv

The velocity in this formula is the average speed of the object during the time interval.

Hindi ako sure hehe assignment din namin yan.. eto sagot ko jan

Given:

m = 52kg

s = 4m

g = 9.8m/s^2

t = 120s

P = ?

F=mg

F = (52 kg)(9.8 m/s^2)

F = 509.6 kgm/s^2 or 509.7 N

Wk = F•s

Wk = (509.6 N)(4m)

Wk = 2038.4 J

P = Wk/t

P = 2038.4 J/120 s

P = 16.99 J/s

WATTS = 16.99 W

KILOWATTS = 16.99 W • 1kW/1000 W = 0.01699 kW

HORSEPOWER = 16.99 W•1hp/746 W = 0.023 hp
