1. Sand and water are insoluble in nature so they dont dissolve and after sometime we also observe sand settles at the bottom of the container.

2.Sugar mixes nicely with water as it occupies the space between the water molecules so which means it is soluble in nature.

it is same for others also but some in the case of plaster of paris, Plaster of Paris is not water soluble. Unlike salt or sugar, particles of plaster of Paris keep their form when exposed to water. The particles a merely a fine grind. Water molecules are baked out of gypsum in the manufacture of plaster of Paris.

Similarity eggshells are solid so they dont mix in vinegar.
