Answer:

Let, eye = x, lazer (idk what it is, actually) = y, and claw = z.

So, algebraically we can write:

  • x + y + z = 16 _(A)
  • x + x + x = 24 _(B)
  • x + y - z = - 2 _(C)
  • xy + z = ? _

From equation B,

x + x + x = 24

=> 3x = 24 => x = 8

From (A),

=> x + y + z = 16

=> y + z = 16 - x = 16 - 8 = 8._(1)

From (C),

x + y - z = - 2

=> y - z = - 2 - x = - 2 - 8 = - 10_(2)

Adding (1) & (2), we get:-

(y + z) + (y - z) = 8 + (- 10)

=> 2y = - 2

=> y = - 1

By putting the value of y in (1), z = 9.

Therefore, xy + z = (8)(- 1)(9) = - 72.
