can someone just tell me which laptop is the best

Choosing laptops depend on one's requirements. Just be specific to your purpose as which tasks you normally would like to perform on your laptop. It will decide the Ram, cores, memory, battery life etc.

For example, if you want to do video editing or play games then a laptop with good ram and processor is a must.

Otherwise, for normal tasking, a laptop with minimum 5GB Ram would be enough. 

For brands. You may try Dell for durability and service, Lenovo and HP are also good.

I am presently using a Lenovo make with 8GB Ram.
