Can someone please clearly explain anode, cathode, anion and cation and why they are called as such. I always get very confused. Pls help!!

anode and cathode are used in galvanic cell

they are just a metal surfaces

whereas anions are negatively charged form of an element and cations are positively charged element

anode and cathode may be positively or negatively charged depends on the type of cell majorally they are used to conduct electricity
