HERE'S YOUR ANSWER
____________________________________

Velocity of an object is defined as the rate of change of the position of an object with respect to an object taken as reference.

The object to be taken as reference can be moving or stationary.

Velocity is a vector quantity as it has magnitude as well as direction and also it obeys the laws of Vector Addition.

There is a difference between Speed and Velocity.

Speed determines only about the magnitude of the rate of change of the object but Velocity defines the direction of the moving object.
