1) The farmer was a kind old fellow, who with his old wife and his dog whom he treated as his son. Th farmer was a kind and hardworking soul he use to cut the woods and sell them for their livelihood. Because of the cruel old couple the dog dies and still helps the kind old farmer being prosperous.

2) The poet's dad was very confident about himself, he thought that he was a great climber and thus tried to help the cat by climbing the tree with several plan but at last he himself gets stuck on the tree .
