Answer:

(i) Large latitudinal Extent: The continent of Asia has a large latitudinal extent.

Distance form the Sea: Major parts of Asia lie in the interiors far away from the moderating influence of the Sea.

(ii) The summer monsoon generally begins in April and lasts through late September, while the winter monsoon arrives in October and ends in March. Rainfall produced during the summer monsoon can be very intense; flash floods and even crop damage are not uncommon in regions subject to the monsoon's effects.

(iii)Coniferous forests are found in Asia, primarily in Siberia, China, Korea, and Japan, and on the slopes of the Himalaya and Hindu Kush Mountains. In Europe, they cover much of Scandinavia and the coast of the Baltic Sea and are found on the primary mountain ranges—the Alps, the Vosges, and the Carpathians

(iv) The natural vegetation in the equatorial region is rich due to abundant rainfall and sun shine. The tundra region is cold thus, does not support an elaborate vegetation. Tundra region is also characterized by snow fall.

(v) The Himalayas have a profound effect on the climate of the Indian subcontinent and the Tibetan Plateau. They prevent frigid, dry winds from blowing south into the subcontinent, which keeps South Asia much warmer than corresponding temperate regions in the other continents.
