marbles with irfan = 37

now, marbles with parmeet = 7 + 5x

equation : 37 = 7 + 5x
37 - 7 = 5x (transposition method)
30 = 5x
30 ÷ 5 = x
6 = x

so parmeet has 6 marbles.

Q17. Let the number be = a
equation : 5/2a - 7 = 11/2
5a - 14 = 11/2 (L.C.M = 2)
5a = 11 + 14
5a = 25. ( transposition method)
a = 25/5 = 5

hence, anwar thought of the number 5.
