there mainly two ways to cause a combustion , one through explosive combustion ,and second through spontaneous combustion,

spontaneous combustin is one way of exploring things , but it mainly occurs through inflammable materials so not that effective explosion is caused, but in explosive combustion with the internal supply of oxygen when the fuel burns in a short period of time , it causes very big explosion as compared to spontaneous combustion
