yes ... A redox reaction takes place between the two substances, forming sulphur dioxide and water.

S + 2H2SO4 = 3SO2 + 2H2O

Sulphur is oxidised to sulphur dioxide by hot and concentrated sulphuric acid, and the acid also gets reduced to the same product (sulphur oxide) by sulphur.
