can the average velocity of a moving body be zero?

U see unlike distance which is a scalar ,displacement is a vector. ... This is because the distance covered by the body from the initial point to the final point is 0 if its starting and finishing point is same. Hence I conclude thatAverage speed cannot be 0 butaverage velocity can bezero.

yes, it can be zero. In these above pictures, the displacement of the zero because it travels from A and comes again to A. So If displacement is zero velocity will also becomes zero. velocity = displacement / time.
= 0/time
= 0.
