no displacement cannot be greater than the distance but it can be equal or smaller than it. for eg- a boy covered 4km south and then 6 km to north then the distance will be 10 km and displacement will be 2km.
same way a boy covered 4km south and then 3 km to east then distance will be 7 km and displacement will be 5km
another eg- if the boy covers 5km south and 5 km north so the distance will be 10 km and displacement will be o
