<b>Energy will be released to change from liquid to solid (fusion), gas to liquid (condensation), or gas to solid. Latent heat of evaporation is the energy used to change liquid to vapor. IMPORTANT: The temperature does not change during this process, so heat added goes directly into changing the state of the substance.

Water vapor, water vapour or aqueous vaporis the gaseous phase of water. It is one stateof water within the hydrosphere. Water vaporcan be produced from the evaporation or boiling of liquid water or from the sublimationof ice. Unlike other forms of water, water vapor is invisible.Under typical atmospheric conditions, water vapor is continuously generated by evaporation and removed by condensation. It is less dense than air and triggers convection currents that can lead to clouds.
