If you're talking about speeches, debates and so, they HAVE to be short and sweet, else the audience wouldn't get you.

If you disagree, try saying - "I've had patients that had suffered from pneumonounltramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis."

Isn't it tiresome?

Now, try saying - "I've had patients that had suffered from a lung disease."
