can the magnitude of the displacement be equal to the distance travelled by an object? can the displacement be greater than the distance?

Magnitude of displacement and distance can only be same when body travell in a straight line.
But, displacement can't be greater than distance.... because displacement itself a shortest distance between final and initial point.
