Yes,the motion of a body dropped from the top of the building can be considered as linear motion.

• When we drop an object from the top of the building,there are major chances that the object will fall down by a linear motion. (if the object is not very light weight and we have to eliminate the effects of wind etc).

• Now,due to the gravitational acceleration the velocity increases of the falling object with the passing time. So,here the acceleration is not zero and this an example of non uniform linear motion.
