Can the motion of artificial satellite around the earth be taken as s.h.m yes or no?

In my view, Motion of Artificial satellite around earth cannot be considered as SHM.
Explanation :

Motion of Artificial satellite around earth is considered  as periodoc motion not oscillatory motion.

For a body to be in SHM, it should cover to and fro motion from its mean position  whereas satellites just orbits around Earth does not move to and fro

Since the essential condition for SHM is to and fro motion about mean position and the motion of satellite is circular ,so it can't be taken as SHM.
