in the compound NO2with -charge the oxidation no of N is +3

NO2-=x+(-2×2)=-1

-4=-1

x= -1+4

+3

where as in N2O5 the oxidation no of N is +5

N2O5

x×2+(-2×5)

2x-10

x=10/2

x=+5
