Can the single phase transformer work on DC supply? Justify your answer.​

Answer:

The DC supply can't be used for the transformer. The transformer works on the principle of mutual induction, for which current in one coil must changes uniformly. If DC supply is given, the current will not change due to constant supply and transformer will not work. Winding resistance of transformer is very small.
