And since the smallest sum of 11 whole numbers is 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 + 6 + 7 + 8 + 9 + 10 + 11 = 66, we've run out of possibilities. Thus 58 can only be written as the sum of four consecutive whole numbers, as above.

Yes the sum of 9 consecutive numbers can be 58 but not of integers.

According to question

a+(a+1)+(a+1+1)...+(a+8)=58

9a+36=58

a=22/9

Pls note :

sum of 9 integers can never be 58
