hello frnd,

You can't have heterozygous dominant or recessive. A genotype is either homozygous dominant (MM), homozygous recessive (mm) or heterozygous (Mm).

Hope it helps!

Agkc: But we can have heterozygous dominant... That (Mm) is heterozygous dominant
Agkc: B'coz here 'm' is suppressed by 'M'
Anonymous: yeag right
Anonymous: but no heterozygous recessive
Anonymous: as M cannot be suppressed by m
Agkc: Yup

Answer: No, there can not be heterozygous recessive state.

Any trait or characteristic is determined by gene that exists in two alternative forms called allele ( dominant and recessive allele).

Recessive trait is only expressed when the gene corresponding to it is present in the homozygous state ( also called homozygous recessive like 'tt' for dwarf plant) as presence of dominant gene masks the expression of recessive gene.

On the contrary, dominant trait is expressed when the gene corresponding to it is present in homozygous ( 'TT' for tall) or heterozygous dominant state ( like 'Tt' for tall plant)
