Can there be distance without displacement. Explain

Yes , there can be distance even if the displacement is zero .

This is because displacement is a vector quantity that is it's magnitude depends on the direction or the path followed by the body.

Whereas distance is scalar which means that it is not dependent on the direction of the moving body. It is the actual path travelled by the body.

In a case of uniform circular motion , when the body completes one round and come back from where it had started , then the displacement for this body would be zero as the initial and fnal position are same.
While the distance is not zero because it donot depend on the direction.
The distance travelled by the body can be calculated by applying formula for circumference of the circle that is 2pi r.

Thus it is concluded that even if the displacement is zero distance may or may not be zero.
