Can two numbers have 18 as their HCF and 380 as their LCM? Give reason.

380 = 2 * 2 * 19 * 5

18 = 2 * 3 * 3

As u can see that HCF(18) is not a part of LCM i.e there are no 3's in it.

Therefore, this is not possible!.

so for solving this sum ,we must recall a property..............

→ lcm is a mutiple of hcf ←

here , we see that 380 is not multiple of 18

∴two no. cant have  18 as their hcf and numbers 380 as their lcm.
