can two numbers have 18 as their HCF and 380 as their LCM ? give reasons​

No, two numbers cannot have 18 as their HCF and 308 as their LCM, this is because,

The number 18 does not divide 308 in whole numbers.

Therefore, we know that the number of HCF and LCM should have any common factor in division.

ACTUALLY NO.......

NO NUMBERS CAN HAVE THESE AS HCF AND LCM

To check u can do:-

HCF ×LCM = a×b
380 ×18 = a×b
6840 = a× b

NOW FROM THIS ....
Let a = 6840-b

•°• 6840= (6840-b)×b
6840 = 6840b-b²

b²-6840b+ 6840=0

As it is like a quadratic equation....
so, now just solve this and find the values of a and b....
