1. The heart contains 4 chambers
2. The right atrium, left atrium, right ventricle, and left ventricle.
3. The atria are smaller than the ventricles and have thinner, less muscular walls than the ventricles.
4. The atria act as receiving chambers for blood, so they are connected to the veins that carry blood to the heart.
5. The right ventricle and right article receive impure blood from all parts of the body.
6. The collected impure blood is then pumped to the lungs for the purification.
7. In lungs the exchange of gases takes place and purified blood is sent back to left ventricle and left artium
8. The partition between the chambers helps to avoid mixing of the blood rich in oxygen and the blood rich in carbon dioxide
