Some features of areolar connective tissue are as follows:-

1. Areolar connective tissue is also known as spongy tissue.

2. It is the tissue which is found to be very distributed in our body.

3. Matrix like substances are present there.

4. Maximum intracellular space is found in them.

5. Gaps are found there as because of irregular attachment in them.

6. That space is called as areolae.

7. Some of the cells like matrix, fibres and cells are distributed in the space called areolae.
