The right of children to free and compulsory education act or right to educate act is known as rte is an act or the parliament of India enacted on 4th august 2009, which describes the modalities of the importance of free and compulsory education or children between age of 6 and 14  in india under article 21 A of the Indian  constitution.

RTE Act was passed in 2009. It guarantees children of 6 to 14 yrs of age the right to free and compulsory education. It has also emphasized the need for implementation of school based education and comprehensive and continuous evaluation of the child's understanding of knowledge and his or her ability to apply the same.
