Question : -

QS is the diagonal of the ||logram PQRS. PQ = SR, and PQ || SR. Show that, △PQS ≅ △SQR.

Answer : -

Given that,

QS is the diagonal.

PQ = SR

PQ || SR

To show,

△PQS ≅ △SQR

As in △PQS and △SQR,

QS = SQ (common side)

PQ = SR (given)

PS = QR (opposite sides of a ||logram are always equal).

By SSS criteria rule,

△PQS ≅ △SQR

Hence, showed.

Alternative method

In △PQS and △SQR,

QS = SQ (Common side)

PQ = SR (Given)

∠QPS = ∠SRQ (opposite angles of a ||logram are always equal).

By SAS criteria rule,

△PQS ≅ △SQR

Hence, showed.
