    b) A rice cooker converts the water into hot steam which occasionally cooks the rice or any other item in it. The raw food item is added into the pot along with water. The appliance heats up the water, converting it to steam. Since the pot is covered, the pot gets filled with hot steam which starts to cook the raw food item from time.
