can u please explain about the propagation of sound in solids

In solids,
Now, as we speak the disturbance is passes in the particles.
Now the initial particles start moving to and fro.While moving ahead, it passes the disturbance to other particles and again go back..Now the other particles start moving and does the same thing with further particles.
This creates compressions and rare fractions in the medium and sound moves.

The disturbance created by a source of sound in the median travels through the medium and not the particles of the medium
