The area of all curved surfaces of any solid. The lateral Surface area is the area if Base of the solid and the face parallel to it. The total surface area is the sum of the both the curved and the lateral surfaces areas. Thus Cylinder , cone etc have curved surfaces.

In a cylinder,
Curved Surface Area(C.S.A) means the area of the surface which is curved.
For example,
If you take a cylindrical bluetooth speaker, the area of the curved surface is the C.S.A of the speaker.

Total Surface Area(T.S.A) means the area of the complete area of the surface of cylinder i.e. the area of the curved surface along with the surface area of the base and the upper covering.
Let's take the same example,
The T.S.A of the speaker will be the C.S.A+S.A of base+S.A of upper covering

In a cone,
Curved Surface Area(C.S.A) means the area of the surface which is curved.
For example,
If we take a Cone ice-cream, the waffer part's (i.e. the curved part's) surface area will be C.S.A

T.S.A of cone will be the surface area of the base or upper covering along with the C.S.A
Let's take the same example,
The T.S.A of the Ice-cream cone will be C.S.A+ the upper part
