(i) 20 × [6 + (-2)] = [20 × 6] + [20 × (-2)]

Using BOADMAS rule i.e. brackets, orders, division, multiplication, addition and subtraction.

20(6 - 2) = 120 + (-40)

20(4) = 120 - 40

80 = 80

(ii) (-31) × [(-3) + (-2)] = [(-31) × (-3)] + [(-31)×(-2)]

-31(-3 - 2) = + 93 + 62

-31(-5) = 155

155 = 155

L.H.S. = R.H.S.

Hence, proved.

Step-by-step explanation:

20×[6+(-2)]=[20×6]+[20×(-2)]

20×4=120+(-40)

80=80

Yes

ii) (-31)×[(-3)+(-2)]=[(-31)×(-3)]+[-31)×(-2)]

(-31)×(-5)=(93)+(62)

155=155

Yes
