Rewrite x ^2/3 as ( x ^1 /3 ) 2 .

( x^ 1 /3 ) 2 − 7 x^ 1 /3 + 10 = 0 Let u = x ^1/3 .

Substitute u for all occurrences of x 1 3 .

u2 − 7 u + 10 = 0 Factor u2 − 7 u + 10 using the AC method.

( u − 5 ) ( u − 2 ) = 0 Replace all occurrences of u with x ^1/ 3 . ( x ^1 /3 − 5 ) ( x^ 1/ 3 − 2 ) = 0 If any individual factor on the left side of the equation is equal to 0 , the entire expression will be equal to 0 .

x ^1 /3 − 5 = 0 x^ 1/ 3 − 2 = 0 Set the first factor equal to 0 and solve.

x = 125 Set the next factor equal to 0 and solve.

x = 8 The final solution is all the values that make ( x 1 3 − 5 ) ( x 1 3 − 2 ) = 0 true.

x = 125 , 8

sorry lots of edit
